Airtel Announced free Voice calling and Data Benefits to Prepaid Users. On Thursday, in an attempt to fight Reliance Jio’s free calls and data services, the country’s largest telecom service provider Bharti Airtel Ltd. launched two cheaper plans for its prepaid customers that will give free voice calling and data benefits.
The two new bundled unlimited voice calling packs, priced at Rs.145 and Rs.345, allows users to make calls free of charge across the country and come with data benefits.
Airtel announced these free voice calling pack soon after the Reliance Jio extended its ‘Welcome Offer’ providing free voice calls, data, text messages and other services free for another three months, renaming it as the ‘Jio Happy New Year Offer’.
Airtel has provided pricing for Delhi Circle and says pricing of the prepaid packs may vary from circle to circle.
The Rs.145 pack will offer 300 MB Data to customers with 4G ready smart phones along with free local and STD Airtel- to -Airtel calls. The Pack will offer 50 MB Data to customers with basic mobiles phones, which are ideally suited for web surfing and accessing light social media applications, the company said.
The Pack of Rs.345 offers 1 GB Data to customers with 4G ready smartphones along with free voice calls both local and STD, to any network in India. The Pack will offer 50 MB Data to customers with basic mobile phones, which are ideally suited for web surfing and accessing light social media applications.
Both the packs have a validity of 28 days and is available to customers across India.
The company has added that the customers in Kerala will avail the data benefits on 2G/4G networks.
“This is another initiative from us to bring innovative bundle offers to our customers in line with our endeavor to provide the great value backed by a superior network experience.” said Ajai Puri, Director Market Operations (India and South Asia), Bharti Airtel.
Other telecom operators are also announcing benefits to customers to compete with Reliance Jio. Vodafone has slashed 4G Tariff by 50% and Aircel has announced a new prepaid plan that makes voice calling free for three months.
